Community Programs
Cafecito

Cafecito is a weekly event where we provide homemade Mexican hot chocolate, pan dulce (sweet bread) and coffee for students, staff and the general Stanford community. As one of El Centro’s most popular programs, Cafecito is an excellent avenue for people in Comunidad to socialize and network over breakfast. In addition, the Career Development Center (CDC) holds walk-in consultations, and teaching assistants and professors regularly agree to meet students during Cafecito.
Cafecito is held on Fridays from 10am –11 am and is open to all.
*Due to COVID-19, going forward, we will be hosting Cafecitos biweekly starting October 1st, 2021 at 10 am PT in the Old Union Plaza.

Orientación BigSib - LilSib Program
El Centro’s BigSib - LilSib Program, also known as Orientación, is a mentorship program that intends to provide freshmen with a “familia" of mentors who are part of comunidad. The families freshmen are organized into, are created so that upperclassmen can help freshmen transition from high school to college with ease. Lastly, Centro’s BigSib - LilSib holds bonding activities, games, and gatherings to foster community ties, trust, and friendship.
