Join a conversation on healing in/ outside activism, sex positivity, and queering Puerto Rican diasporic archives.

Mayadet P. Cruz (they/them) is a Chicago native and a long-time organizer invested in queer, trans, gender nonconforming, femme, Puerto Rican, and fat communities. For the past decade, these commitments have propelled Cruz to teach, research, (co-)lead initiatives, and coalition-build on the housing and healthcare needs of LGBTQAI youth; restorative and transformative justice practices; and the enactment of a more loving world. Cruz currently develops and supports inclusive programming at Northwestern University’s Women’s Center.

Caribbean Revelations is curated and moderated by Xavi Luis Burgos, a Ph.D. student in the Graduate School of Education.

Funding provided by Stanford University’s Center for Latin American Studies, with support from the Program in Chicanx-Latinx Studies, El Centro Chicano y Latino, & Queer Student Resources.
